Whimsical Projects is an excellent tool for bug tracking, as it’s simple for anyone to create a task for each new bug report. You can then triage, and track work on them directly.
Here’s an example bug tracking project.
You might create one of these for each of your teams, or have one project in the “Everyone at” team (this is how we do it at Whimsical 😉) - Teams can then move tasks into other projects if needed.
For this example, we’ve disabled the project’s overview tab, but if you have specific bug reporting guidelines, you could document them here:
The first column in your Kanban view should be for new bugs, in this case “Triage”:
It’s a great idea to add an example task with all the information you’d like in your bug reports, as well as guidelines on which tags to add:
Then for the person triaging bug reports, there’s a custom view for all tasks with the status “Triage”, sorted by “Created at” (so the oldest reported bugs get triaged first):
Tip: You can create as many of these as you like, for however you like to track your bug reports 👍
At Whimsical (among others) we have:
These are included in the demo project embedded above.
After triage, it’s simple for them to:
Or whichever combination of the above is right (They could even fix it right then if they’ve got all the info they need 😉 )
The reporter now has clear visibility on what happened with their report, so they can follow progress, check in if needed and get back to the reporting customer once it’s resolved. 👌

Another bonus with handling your bug reports in Whimsical, is how easily tasks can be embedded, and linked to from other docs and boards.
