Stay on top of upcoming work with due dates in your tasks. Due dates can be used to filter your task views and get notifications when upcoming work is due.
When creating or editing a task you'll see the due date field, click it to set the due date:
This will open the date picker where you can select a specific date from the preset options or a specific date from the calendar. You can also type in relative dates like "In 5 days":
The due date will be shown on the task, in a different color depending on how far away (or past) it is:
Any date more than 3 days away will be gray.
Any task due in the next 3 days (including those due today), will have yellow due dates.
All overdue tasks will have the due date shown in a solid red box.
Note:
Removing a due date is easy - just click the x next to the due date:
With due dates applied to your tasks you can sort and filter task views in your projects, with relative or fixed date ranges.
Select "due this week" for example and you'll see all tasks that are due this week, no matter when you look at the view.
Note: Tasks without due dates will not be shown in a view filtered by due date
Select a specific date like the end of the current cycle or quarter, and you will see all tasks due before then. When this date passes, no tasks will be shown as none match the filters:
With a filter added - you can change it to show tasks that are due on, before or after the chosen date:
It's easy to filter for any tasks that don't yet have a due date - select "No due date" and you'll see all the tasks without one:
With due date notifications enabled you'll see a message in your notification inbox, Slack and/or Email (depending on your notification settings) 3 days before a task is due, and on the day that it's due:
Notifications are sent between 6 & 7am in your timezone and will also be included in the daily digest email (if you have it enabled).
Due dates are enabled for your projects by default, but if you have projects that don't require them - you can switch them off for a more streamlined task view.
Watch this video to learn how to change your project settings.
Or if none of your team's projects require due dates, you can switch them off completely in your team settings.
