How do I change my account email address?

In this guide we walk you through changing your email address, setting a default address, and adding additional email addresses for different workspaces.

Changing or Adding Another Account Email Address

To change your account email address or add an additional one, go here → click Add Email. Alternatively, click on your avatar (upper-right corner of the screen) → Account SettingsAdd Email

Adding multiple account email addresses is a great way to safeguard your account in case you forget your password or lose access to the default email address. Password reset emails can be sent to any email address you've added to your account. You can also log into your account using any of your email addresses.


Setting Default Account Email Address 

If you have added more than one account email address, you can choose your default email account where our monthly newsletters are sent. Your default email address is also used as a fallback in case a secondary email connected to a specific workspace is removed.

To set your default account email address, go here → click the little blue arrow next to email address of your choice → Make default. Alternatively, click on your avatar (upper-right corner of the screen) → Account Settings → click the little blue arrow next to email address of your choice → Make default.


Using Different Email Addresses for Different Workspaces

You can choose different email addresses for different workspaces to keep workspace notifications separate. We'll send comment and discussion notifications and billing-related information (invoices and subscription renewal reminders) to the email address associated with the specific workspace. 

To use different email addresses for different workspaces, go hereWorkspaces → click on the email address you want to change and choose one of the already added email addresses or add a new one. Alternatively, click on your avatar (upper-right corner of the screen) → Account Settings → Workspaces → click on the email address you want to change and choose one of the already added email addresses or add a new one.


Deleting Account Email Address 

To remove an email address associated with your Whimsical account, go here → click the little blue arrow next to email address of your choice → Remove. Alternatively, click on your avatar (upper-right corner of the screen) → Account Settings → click the little blue arrow next to email address you want to remove → Remove.

Please note that the default account email address cannot be deleted.
